Brief: International government agency sought to develop inter-governmental relationships. Immovable 6-week deadline; 50 countries; multiple languages and time zones; complex needs definition; large information volume to analyse and report.
Solution:  Examined ownership and management structures, technologies, asset portfolios, customers and contracts, collaborations, capacity and sustainability issues, national strategies, attitudes to foreign ownership, political and trade union/employee opinion, financial and some environmental issues. Blended swept data with intelligence feeds from regional intelligence teams that had been set up in 6 global locations and from sector specialists. All incoming information constantly matched and validated against central knowledge base, enabling queries to be quickly qualified or rejected.

Brief: Client requested support to identify the income origin of a customer, as part of a compliance process.
Solution:  Established a profiling project to explore social network, business network and commercial relationships in order to identify business interests, geographical touch points and collaborations.
Result: In the course of proving that the customer’s source of funds were not legitimate, also picked up weak signals of an involvement in a quite separate illegal cross-border trade moving goods from low to high value markets in breach of international regulations.
