Compliance analysis

Brief: Client wanted to purchase an industrial site and requested assistance in determining the plant’s environmental compliance status.
Solution:  First worked out what the plant was doing from a process and technology perspective and then identified its waste footprint. Then tested compliance with statutory waste disposal regulations and the company’s discharge commitments. This proved that it was impossible to assert that the company was in control of its waste chain and would more than probably leave a new owner vulnerable to an open-ended clean up cost.
Result: The client decided not to proceed with the deal.


Brief: Sweep of a country market to identify the presence of counterfeit, sub-standard, out-of-date and out-of-assay goods.
Solution:  Identified all points of sale of relevant goods and then sampled and tested every point of sale for compliance with statutory regulations, supplying sampled goods to an independent laboratory for forensic analysis. Also examined the regulations to identify where an absence of definition was permitting certain market behaviour to take place.
Result: Provided a detailed analysis of the state of the market, enabling local enforcement resources to be more effectively deployed.
